Interactive view of the hourly input series that feed the ACOE calculation — the
residual load and the specific production of PV, wind and nuclear — with their exact data sources.
Sources & methodology
Hourly series — ENTSO-E Transparency Platform
(Actual Generation per Type, code A75), per country, aggregated across bidding zones, in local time.
Residual load [MW] = generation from fossil power stations only (psrType B02–B08); nuclear, hydro, biomass and other renewables are excluded.
Solar / Wind / Nuclear [kWh/kW] = specific production = hourly generation ÷ installed capacity
(Solar = B16, Wind = B18 + B19, Nuclear = B14).
Nuclear: real ENTSO-E generation for countries with reactors (France, Spain, Germany, Belgium).
For countries with no measured nuclear it is a synthetic flat baseload (≈ 0.9 kWh/kW) so the technology can
still be explored in the calculator; where the installed nuclear capacity is 0 (e.g. Italy) it contributes no power.
Installed capacity — Ember
("Yearly Electricity Data"), per country and year, used to normalise PV / wind / nuclear.
⚠️ For 2025 the installed capacity is an
estimate (linear extrapolation 2023→2024 — Ember has not yet published 2025).
California / South Australia: static 2022 datasets from CAISO / AEMO (not covered by ENTSO-E; they do not vary by year).
